Took in my 40 year old G&L Cavalier electric that I had not played for quite a while due to issues that made it unplayable. I had taken this guitar to other repair shops around town, and they would do a setup and say it’s all good now. I finally stopped playing it until now! He looked it over and told me what he could to bring it back to life. 1 week later I picked it up and now I am so happy to have my favorite back in playing shape. I’m so happy I found his shop! The work was fast, and the price reasonable. I’m telling all my musician friends to go there for repairs.

Can’t thank John enough for taking my amp that I wasn’t too happy with the current sound and modding it to blackface specs, replacing old caps and turning this amp into a complete tone machine and now my favorite amp! I’ve had a Taylor 6 string for years and noticed after not playing it after a while the action was tough on my hands. John was able to lower the action and even recommended some strings that make it sing! Top notch.

(I swear they’ve become an obsession)and used lots of service techs at various guitar shops, most were good with a few bad ones mixed in but then a fellow guitar guy told me to try JJ guitar and let me just say they have been the best I’ve ever tried, the attention to detail is amazing, they always provides excellent service, and you can really tell the difference in the instrument when finished no matter what the issue is and they can do just about anything to your equipment, they are very skilled in the craft and always do a Wonderful job, I will always take my gear to your shop, definitely the best.

I took John an old beat up Les Paul I found cheap at a pawn shop today. Just a few hours later it was done. Straightforward process. Repaired severe body damage, corroded metal, adjusted bridge, shined her up, full set-up including new strings and tuned up for around $150. I look forward to going back.

I took what I thought was a decent sounder Fender Jazz V to John for a setup and restring. Now I know what my bass is supposed to sound an feel like. He did an amazing job. The tone and action are improved beyond 100%. I will be taking every instrument I buy to JJ Guitar repair for setup from now on. Great job John! Thank you!

After purchasing a guitar to add to my Collection, I noticed it had some issues. The whole setup was wrong . I took it to John and now it’s one of my favorite guitars to play. Thanks John! You did an absolutely amazing set up.

I recently brought in my 65 Amps soho for some love as it was not doing well at all. I got it back today and I am super stoked! Not only is it sounding ridiculous again, but they were also able to fix a master volume issue that has plagued the amp since I bought it. Two big fat thumbs up guys!!!

Got to give John credit. So far he has setup 8 guitars for me and each one came back playing and sounding better than before. But the last guitar was special as it was from a family estate. The guitar sounded as if it had potential but the neck and fret board were junk as the guitar had spent the prior two years in a storage shed. Being a series 200 Rickenbacker parts appear to be nonexistent. John straighten the neck and refretted and leveled the fret board. Thanks John!

John fixed one of my amps a few years back and I have been sending anyone that comes into gc, looking for an amp repair, his way. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my amps. In fact… i need to get one in!

My 40 year old Les Paul definitely needed a tune-up and after checking out the usual music store repair people, I found JJ’s Guitar Repair. After reading JJ’s reviews on line, I brought my guitar into John for a setup and to check out one of my tuning keys that I thought was going bad. To my surprise, my guitar was ready later that same day and with amazing results. My LP has never played or sounded better…ever, and he was able to resolve my tuning key issue without having to replace it. So if you are looking for the best guitar repair person (in the area) at a reasonable cost, John at JJ’s Guitar Repair should be at the top of your list.

I brought in my Mayones Jabba V custom in to have it set up and have a new preamp installed. I don’t know what voodoo magic John did to my bass, but has NEVER felt or sounded so good. Fantastic work, superb customer service, quick turnaround. Don’t waste your time or money with another shop. Get your work done at JJ guitar repair.

I needed the stock DiMarzio pickups swapped out for a set of SD pickups (screamin demon / 59). John got me in fast and was done in a couple days. He had to do a little grinding to get the new pickups to fit. All in all, he charged a very reasonable price and the guitar sounds better than ever! Thanks, John!

I needed to find someone to replace my former guitar tech as he relocated out of the area. Brought my SG Standard to John and he did a killer job (there hasn’t been a day where I didn’t want to pick it up and play it since I got it back last week)! Sometimes you feel somethings not right and it’s that last thing to use as an excuse to not play better and more confidently. The brief peace of mind other shop’s setups gave me always led me back to that way of thinking. When I brought my guitars back from Johns shop there was a different “FINE TUNED” feeling altogether. Best analogy I can think of is it felt like he’d given it guitar viagra and now it’s on me to go get laid.

I really wish I would’ve known about this place a long time ago! I had an old washburn that needed A LOT of work, and John had the thing rockin’ again within a few days. He answered all of my questions and explained everything he did to the axe. I can’t even explain how impressed I am with this place and what is has to offer. I’ll be back again for sure! Amazing!

My Taylor 12 string was in need of a new pre-amp and under warranty. I was happy to find out there was a certified Taylor service shop locally here in Omaha. I was fortunate enough to find John online about 2 years ago, and have been taking my guitars (both electric & acoustic) and amplifiers to him for repairs and adjustments ever since. He does accurate, quality work, explains what he did, and charges fairly—he’s very up front about his work. He’s also a really nice guy, and it just so happens that his drummer and I used to play in a band together. I’m glad to be in John’s circle of customers and friends!

Every time John sets up one of my guitars for the first time it becomes my favorite. Not because the others have deteriorated but because I’ve struggled with what I had that when setup right it is a joy to play.

John has repaired two of my Fender Amplifiers. I found the invoice to be less than expected and the work appeared to be of top quality.He has also repaired three of my guitars. Here the results were better than expected. In each case the tone improved by at least 100% and each guitar was much more playable. He replace a broken nut on a Korean Martin SDR-28 and set the action. It now plays and sounds (to me) better than my Martin HD-28. I’m quite pleased and kind of hoping something happens to cause me to take in my other two guitars he has not worked on yet. I am also considering having him build a custom Telecaster for me.

John, As I was at rehearsal on Sunday, I have to say I have never had this LP play so well, Thank you so much, it played like a dream. You are a craftsman to a level that only a few can aspire to be as great as you. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TIME THAT YOU TOOK TO SET UP MY GUITAR, WHAT A DREAM TO HAVE IT PLAY SO WELL, I JUST CAN’T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT YOU AND YOUR TALENT.
